About Us

Dr Tom Savvoulidis was born in Germany and migrated to Australia in 1979. He graduated in 1989 from Adelaide University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and began surgical training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 1991. He was accepted into the orthopaedic training program and became a Fellow of the College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2001. He further improved his skills by attending various centres in France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In 2005 he attained his Masters Certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery, Advanced Techniques, in Switzerland.
Dr Savvoulidis has a special interest in arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Arthroscopic surgery of joints has evolved over the last 30 years and he currently uses the latest techniques available for most problems involving joints of the upper and lower limb, this includes endoscopic surgery.
Dr Savvoulidis Private Consulting Rooms are located at Rose Park. A regular consult session is also conducted at Central Districts Private Hospital, Elizabeth.
Dr Savvoulidis operates on a regular basis at Burnside Hospital and Central District Private Hospital and once a month at St Andrews Hospital. More information on the hospitals can be found in the Contact Us section.
The areas that Dr Savvoulidis specialises in include, upper and lower limbs, sports injuries, trauma and arthritis surgery. He has a special interest in the Minimally Invasive (MIS) Hip surgery.
Please note, Dr Savvoulidis does not consult patients with spinal and/or neck injuries.
DePuy Hip Replacement Recall
Dr Savvoulidis would like to inform his patients that he has not used the DePuy Hip replacement components ASR XL Acetabular Head System or the ASR Hip Resurfacing System for his hip replacement surgery. These products are being recalled by DePuy due to faulty components.
