Consultations
Appointments
For an appointment, you need to provide a:
- Referral letter - This is required so that you may obtain a rebate from Medicare. A referral from a GP is valid for 12 months. A referral from a specialist is valid for 3 months.
- Medicare Card
- Pension and Health Care Cards
- DVA Card (Veteran Affairs)
- Private Health Fund Details
- All relevant X-rays
- A list of your current medication
- A list of your past medical history
- A list of your known allergies
Payment
Consultation Costs
There will be a gap payment included in your consult fee. Please ask the Reception Staff for the costs when making your appointment. Other extra costs include: plaster, slings, wrist supports, dressings, boots and shoes.
The Government has recently removed the Medicare and DVA rebate for any bone and joint injection. There is now a non-rebateable charge for any of these procedures which are payable on the day of your consult. Please ask the Reception Staff for the costs before your procedure.
Surgery Costs
Dr Savvoulidis works with the Hospital Benefit Schemes and the Hospitals to provide you with the lowest out of pocket expenses. If surgery is required, Dr Savvoulidis and his staff will disclose any out of pocket expenses that are known at the time of booking your surgery.
Payment
The Practice Policy is that all accounts are paid in full on the day of your consultation.
EFTPOS facilities are available at all clinics and your accounts are submitted to Medicare electronically so that your rebate is sent to you quickly. If you have your banking details registered with Medicare, your rebate should be received within two working days.
Workcover, Motor Vehicle, Third Party Insurance
Dr Savvoulidis does not consult any workcover, motor vehicle or third party insurance claims. He also will not give a consultation for a second opinion or a report for compensation.
